Borno State Government

In a swift security operation, a 46-year-old man identified as Yakubu Adamu has been arrested for allegedly possessing a locally fabricated AK-47 rifle in Izzam village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit apprehended the suspect on Tuesday evening following credible intelligence reports linking him to illegal arms possession.

A thorough search conducted on Adamu led to the discovery and recovery of the fabricated rifle, believed to have been locally produced for criminal purposes.

According to security sources, the suspect has already provided useful information to investigators, offering leads that could aid in tracking down his accomplices and arms suppliers.

Efforts, the sources said, are ongoing to uncover the network behind the weapon fabrication and distribution in the area as part of the continued crackdown on illegal arms proliferation in Kaduna State.

Security agencies reaffirmed their commitment to rid communities of criminal elements, warning that anyone found involved in the production, sale, or possession of illegal weapons will face the full wrath of the law.
