Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) continues to champion academic excellence with the promotion of six faculty members to the rank of Professor and five to the rank of Reader (Associate Professor).
The announcement came after the university’s 49th regular Senate meeting, led by the Governing Council under Chairman Professor Ango Abdullahi.
Newly Promoted Professors:
1.Dr. Mustapha Garba Muh’d – Department of Islamic Studies
2.Dr. Shuaibu Musa Ardo – Department of Islamic Studies
3.Dr. Jocob Itse Dabo – Department of Science Education
4. Dr. Abdussalam Murtala Alhaqiqi- Department of Arabic
5. Dr. Zubairu Abubakar Madaki – Department of Islamic Studies
6.Dr. Sani Babayo Yana – Department of Arabic
Newly Promoted Readers (Associate Professors):
1.Dr. Musa Adamu Wunti – Department of Political Science
2. Dr. Eghosa E. Elija – Department of Mathematical Sciences
3.Dr. Baba Tanimu- Department of Islamic Studies
4. Dr. Yunusa Abubakar** – Department of Education Art
5. Dr. Sani Abubakar Abdullahi Department of Arabic
In a statement, Vice Chancellor Professor Fatimah Tahir emphasized that the promotions reflect the university’s dedication to fostering academic growth and research innovation. She praised the promoted staff for their exceptional contributions to their fields, highlighting their impact on both the academic community and society at large.
The promotions, effective from October 1, 2023, underscore SAZU’s commitment to nurturing talent and advancing knowledge.
