An elders forum in Bauchi has called on President Muhammad Buhari as a matter of urgency suspend Saadiya Umar as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management and social Development in order to avoid political crises in Bauchi.
In a Press conference, the speaker of the Forum Yahaya Idris Sulaiman, says all activities of the Ministry of sharing money to the less privileged in the name of Humanitarian assistance is tantamount to bribing the electorates before the election in which her husband is an aspirant who’s seeking for Governor’s seat,
When he was challenged to defend these allegations and if it’s the fear of the popularity of the APC Gubernatorial candidate that makes them to make a conference in order to get a soft landing for his party, Yahaya says though he’s a member of the PDP he was not speaking on behalf of the PDP but rather expressing himself as a Bauchi State indigene along with other members of the Forum, who are concerned about the development of the State, he further said what we are saying is not being partisan politically but rather we are saying there should be fairness and equity, let the people express their franchise by electing the candidate of their choice without necessary buying their votes, this is buttress by the fact that Money from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs is being shared under the pretence of helping the vulnerable people especially women, this is like vote buying in disguise in order to favour her husband of the APC.
