KATSINA – A daring kidnap attempt by armed bandits in Sabuwa Local Government Area was foiled by operatives of the Katsina State Police Command on Tuesday night, March 19, 2025.
Acting on credible intelligence, police officers from the Faskari Divisional Headquarters swiftly engaged the criminals, who had attempted to block the Inono feeder road near Gidan Zuma village to abduct unsuspecting travelers.
A fierce gun duel ensued, forcing the heavily armed assailants to retreat with gunshot wounds. The police recovered a Honda motorcycle, believed to have been used by the fleeing bandits.
Katsina Commissioner of Police has commended the operatives for their bravery and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of residents. A manhunt is ongoing to track down the escaping suspects.
