Ribadu Hails Global Support, Says Nigeria Open to Any Genuine Partnership for Peace

Borno State Government

National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, says Nigeria warmly welcomes every sincere collaboration from the international community—particularly the United States—aimed at ending the country’s persistent security challenges and restoring sustainable peace.

Ribadu, in a statement on Thursday, stressed that the quest to secure Nigeria is a shared responsibility requiring honest alliances, technical support, and intelligence-driven cooperation.

According to him, safeguarding the nation is far too important for politics, pride, or isolationism. “Any genuine collaboration with our country aimed at ending our lingering security challenges is highly welcome. We must appreciate every sincere effort, partnership and support from the U.S. and any other country that help strengthen our security architecture and restore lasting peace,” he said.

Ribadu explained that Nigeria’s security forces have made “significant strides” in recent months, but noted that global threats—terrorism, banditry, cybercrime, and transnational crime—demand equally global solutions. He added that working with committed partners has already improved intelligence sharing, border monitoring, and frontline capabilities.

Security analysts say Ribadu’s statement signals a renewed diplomatic openness under the current administration, following increased high-level engagements between Nigeria and its allies. The NSA’s message also aligns with broader reforms aimed at modernising the country’s defence and security institutions.

Ribadu insisted that Nigeria’s doors remain open to countries willing to offer honest assistance, emphasising transparency and mutual respect as the foundation of such partnerships. He maintained that the government will continue to explore collaborations that bolster military operations, enhance counterterrorism efforts, and protect communities affected by insecurity.

As Nigeria deepens its security cooperation with friendly nations, Ribadu reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to defeating threats and ensuring that peace and stability become permanent features of the country.

“Our goal is simple: a safer Nigeria for all,” he said.
