Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have intensified their iron grip on terror across Borno State, sustaining aggressive offensives that have shattered insurgent enclaves, forced surrenders and choked terrorist supply lines.
In a major breakthrough under Operation DESERT SANITY V, sustained pressure along the Azir–Wajiroko axis on January 10 compelled 11 Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters to lay down their arms, surrendering AK-47 rifles and assorted ammunition—a clear sign that the heat is telling.
A day earlier, troops swept through the Bulaagalda cluster in a coordinated clearance operation, smashing active terrorist camps at Dagumba, Bonne, Yaganari, Gosuri and Umchile. Notorious hideouts linked to Abu Nazir and Abu Ahmed were overrun and dismantled as soldiers destroyed life-support structures, crippled logistics and recovered terrorist flags, weapons and magazines.
The momentum continued in Yale and Bula Gaida, where fleeing terrorists abandoned logistics facilities later demolished by advancing troops. A general-purpose machine gun, weapons and ammunition were recovered, further weakening insurgent firepower.
Acting on credible intelligence, troops also engaged **Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad/Islamic State West Africa Province elements between Sojiri and Kayamla villages, neutralising eight terrorists and seizing additional AK-47 rifles. In a related clampdown, two suspected logistics collaborators were arrested in Gubio for allegedly supplying the terrorists.
Military sources say the message is unmistakable: the pressure will not ease. Troops remain resolute in dismantling terror networks, blocking escape routes and restoring lasting peace across Nigeria’s North East.
