Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has reassured the Commitment of his administration in making the state free from indiscriminately refuse of dump in the state.
The Governor stated this while commissioning the rehabilitated modern equipments for Refuse management and Sanitation Board held at government house on Sunday.
He said his administration would not relent in ensuring that all refuses were being evacuated from roadsites and water ways with the aim of enhancing the health care of the general public.
The Governor explained that the modern equipments which were meant for sweeping the major streets of Kano metropolitan were procured during the administration of senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso ,but were later abandoned by the immediate past administration.
He said since his assumption in office adequate modalities have been put in place to ensure that refuse management was been tackled in the state.
“These modern street sweeping machines were procured by senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s administration but when the machine got broke down during the immediate past administration.”
“they said engineers have to be deployed from Germany to fix the machines ,but Kudos to the Managing Director of REMASAB who employed indigenous engineers to fix these machines and they have successfully rehabilitated them.
Governor added that the modern tricycles meant for evacuating refuse have also been procured ,aimed at ensuring that they filtrated into nooks and crannies of the state.
He commended the efforts of the incumbent Managing Director of the Agency Alhaji Haruna Zago for his tireless efforts in ensure that the stated goals were being achieved .
In his Remarks the Managing Director of Refuse management and Sanitation Board Alhaji Haruna Zago said the agency had evacuated hundreds tonnes of refuse in the last ten Months .
He said the new equipments will play a vital role in ensuring that the objectives of the agency were being achieved.
Alhaji Haruna Zago applauded the support accorded to the agency by governor Abba Kabir Yusuf,stressing that the agency would not relent in ensuring that it’s achieved it’s mandate.
