Radda’s CoS donates uniforms to 1,500 pupils in Katsina

Alhaji Jabiru Tsauri, Chief of Staff (CoS) to Gov. Dikko Radda of Katsina State, has donated uniforms to 1,500 primary school pupils in Tsauri community of Kurfi Local Government Area.

The chief of staff, also in Tsauri, on Thursday, inaugurated a medical outreach, where many people of the community were expected to benefit from the gesture.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the two events were part of activities for his turbaning as the ‘Lamidon Katsina’, scheduled to take place on Saturday.

Speaking during the distribution of the uniforms, Tsauri said the gesture was part of the humanitarian activities of his ‘Lamido Foundation’ to support the most vulnerable.

He said that the foundation has a series of activities towards supporting the public across the 11 local government areas within the Katsina Central Senatorial Zone , especially in the area of education.

“The foundation has been supporting students with either full or partial scholarships. Because education is one of the major focuses of our administration in the state.

“We have also provided at least seven points where we provide at least 1,000 people with food on a daily basis,” the CoS revealed.

According to Tsauri, the medical outreach was to provide free treatment for the people of the area, in order to enable them to have access to quality healthcare services.

Dr Isah Zakari, the Board Secretary, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), said the donation of the uniforms would go a long way in promoting education in the state.

According to him, it will also promote school enrollment across the state, saying that the state government is committed towards ensuring that more children are enrolled in school.

Also, Dr Mannir Shehu-Ruma, the Chairman, Kurfi Local Government Area commended the gesture and assured that the uniforms would get to the intended beneficiaries.
