In a week when leadership was truly tested, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda proved that he is not just the Commander-in-Chief of Katsina’s civil authority—but a man of action, conviction, and courage.
As bullets echoed through the dense Shawu Forest in Faskari, troops of the Nigerian Army’s 17 Brigade launched a daring offensive against terrorists. The outcome: 21 neutralised, zero military casualties. The terrorists, desperate and disoriented, attempted to use rustled cattle as shields—but were decisively outgunned and outmatched.
Motorcycles, machine guns, assault rifles, communication gadgets, and ammunition were seized. Fear lost its grip. Hope returned.
From Government House, Governor Radda’s voice rang with gratitude and pride. “This victory isn’t just a military milestone—it’s a signal that our communities are being reclaimed, one operation at a time,” he declared. His commendation to the 17 Brigade was more than words—it was a declaration of unwavering support for the men risking everything to defend Katsina.
But Radda didn’t stop at praise. He sprang into action—convening an emergency security summit with local government chairmen, traditional rulers, C-Watch commanders, and frontline stakeholders. His leadership wasn’t reactive—it was proactive, strategic, and people-focused.
Then came tragedy: in Matazu, a Community Watch commander fell to bandit bullets. Where many would have sent condolences from a safe distance, Radda took the road less travelled—literally. He journeyed into the heart of danger, to Maharba village. There, he didn’t deliver speeches—he asked hard questions. He demanded the truth. “Tell me what you know,” he told elders, “or face the consequences of the law.”
It wasn’t politics. It was purpose.
Governor Radda made it clear: security isn’t a press conference or a policy paper—it’s personal. His campaign vow to make Katsina safe again wasn’t a slogan; it’s becoming a reality, one frontline step at a time.
His fearless presence in volatile areas has rekindled confidence among security forces and communities alike. In a region where leadership is often absent when it matters most, Radda is rewriting the script.
He is not just walking the talk. He is walking into the battlefield—with his people, for his people.
Katsina is fighting back. And Governor Radda is leading from the front.
