Radda Unveils Multi-Billion Naira Youth Empowerment Push on International Youth Day

Katsina state government

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has marked International Youth Day with a resounding pledge to keep empowering the state’s young people through massive skills development, entrepreneurship funding, and global learning opportunities.

Describing youths as “the heartbeat of innovation, community service, and nation-building,” Radda rolled out a year’s worth of bold achievements — from transforming the Katsina Youth Craft Village into a TVET Centre of Excellence to creating agricultural mechanisation hubs in all 34 LGAs, employing trained graduates as operators.

The Radda administration’s youth-focused strides include ₦3.1 billion budgeted for interest-free loans, a ₦252 million package to combat political thuggery, scholarships for AI, biotechnology, and medical studies abroad, over 104,000 girls benefiting from conditional cash transfers, and Northern Nigeria’s first tech hub training 3,000 young innovators.

“As a former teacher, I know the power of investing in the next generation,” the Governor said, reaffirming partnerships with the private sector and global agencies to boost internship pipelines and innovation hubs.

Radda urged youths to remain disciplined and dream big, vowing that together, they will build a Katsina and Nigeria that reflect their aspirations.
