Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has called for stronger oversight on social media to curb the spread of misinformation that could inflame national crises.
Speaking during a visit from the Progressive Governors’ Forum Media Team, led by Director General Folorunsho Aluko, Radda warned of the dangers unchecked online content poses to stability.
He urged the implementation of ethical regulations, citing global examples where social media is managed without compromising free speech.
Governor Radda also showcased his “Building Your Future” blueprint, highlighting efforts to expand healthcare by recruiting doctors and sending 41 medical personnel to Egypt for specialized training.
He invited the media to scrutinize his administration’s achievements, emphasizing transparency as a cornerstone of governance.
“A stable nation starts with responsible reporting,” Radda said.
