Radda Launches New Boards to Boost Katsina Farming

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, has inaugurated the new Board Chairmen and members of the Irrigation Development Authority and Katsina State Farmers Supply Company (FASCOKT), in a strategic move to enhance agricultural productivity and boost the state’s economy.

Represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Prof. Ahmad Muhammad Bakori, the Governor emphasized that the board members were selected based on merit due to their vast experience in the agricultural sector.

In his remarks, Prof. Bakori highlighted the responsibilities of the board, urging members to meet quarterly to assess the progress of their respective agencies.

He further encouraged the boards to actively seek external investments and income-generating activities, positioning Katsina State as a leader in agricultural development both locally and internationally.

The board members were also tasked with formulating programs that engage farmers year-round, ensuring continuous production and increasing the state’s agricultural output.

Alhaji Nalado Yusuf Sarkin Sudan, Chairman of FASCOKT, and Eng. Bashir Garba Kaita, member of the Irrigation Development Authority, expressed gratitude to Governor Radda for entrusting them with this responsibility. They assured the Governor that they would work diligently to transform the state’s farming value chain and attract foreign investments.

The boards, newly established under Governor Radda’s administration, aim to strengthen Katsina State’s position as a key player in Nigeria’s agricultural landscape.
