…Dan Amana Initiative Donates School Supplies to Orphans, Less Privileged
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has announced the selection of six students from each of the state’s 361 wards to attend newly established special model schools with free education.
The governor disclosed this on Thursday at Nagogo Primary School, Katsina, during the launch of the Dan Amana Tested and Trusted Initiative, where orphans and vulnerable children received educational materials.
Radda stressed that the selection process was strictly merit-based.
> “Our vision is to give these children quality education so that in the next two or three decades, they will contribute meaningfully to Katsina State,” he said.
He added that his administration had already sponsored brilliant but less privileged children to study medicine in Egypt and Artificial Intelligence in China.
Describing the event as noble, the governor said helping the underprivileged attracts Allah’s mercy and pledged continuous support for community-driven educational initiatives. He also commended teachers for their efforts, urging them to partner with government in sustaining Katsina’s educational legacy.
Earlier, Director General of Dan Amana Tested and Trusted Initiative, Alhaji Suleiman Kabir Barda, said the group was established to support vulnerable children’s access to education.
> “Today’s launch is only the beginning; we will continue visiting schools regularly,” he assured, while distributing uniforms, books, and bags to beneficiaries.
The Deputy Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Hon. Usman Yusuf Saulawa, representing the council chairman, hailed the project as “noble and timely,” appreciating Barda and his team for their commitment to the less privileged.
The event was attended by the Commissioner for Higher, Technical and Vocational Education, Dr. Muhammadu Isa; KYCV Coordinator, Engr. Kabir Abdullahi; education officials, headmasters, and community leaders.
