Katsina state government

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, on Tuesday joined Vice President Kashim Shettima, northern governors, ministers, lawmakers, and international partners at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, for the signing of a landmark $158 million financing agreement for the Value Chain Programme (VCN).

The initiative, jointly funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the French Development Agency (AFD), and the Federal Government, is set to transform agricultural value chains across nine northern states, including Katsina. It aims to boost food security, expand job opportunities, and empower farmers.

Governor Radda hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Shettima for making agriculture a central pillar in Nigeria’s fight against poverty and unemployment.

“Katsina will fully support this programme to ensure it brings real and lasting benefits to our farmers, women, and youths,” Radda assured.

The agreement is expected to unlock new opportunities in crop production, processing, and marketing—placing agriculture at the heart of northern Nigeria’s economic revival.
