Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has congratulated the newly appointed Service Chiefs, describing their selection by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a well-deserved recognition of professionalism, discipline, and years of patriotic service.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Governor Radda commended President Tinubu for what he called a “strategic and visionary choice” of officers whose expertise and reform-driven leadership will further strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture.

The Governor hailed the appointment of Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede as Chief of Defence Staff, describing him as “a brilliant infantry leader known for operational excellence and concern for troop welfare.”

He equally lauded Major General Waidi Shaibu, the new Chief of Army Staff, as “a battle-tested field commander and strategist” whose experience will boost ongoing counter-insurgency and internal security operations across the country.

On Rear Admiral Idi Abbas, the new Chief of Naval Staff, Governor Radda praised his record in maritime operations and commitment to professionalism, while he described Air Vice Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the new Chief of Air Staff, as “an accomplished pilot and defence strategist poised to modernize and strengthen the Nigerian Air Force.”

He reaffirmed Katsina State’s unwavering support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and security agencies, pledging continued collaboration in the fight against banditry, improved intelligence sharing, and efforts to restore lasting peace across the North West.

“As we celebrate this new leadership phase in Nigeria’s military, Katsina State stands ready to partner with our gallant forces to ensure safety, peace, and stability for all,” Radda stated.

The Governor prayed for divine guidance and success for the Service Chiefs, urging them to serve with courage, fairness, and integrity in defending Nigeria’s unity and sovereignty.
