Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has lauded the appointment of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the development as a powerful endorsement of competence, grassroots connection, and reform-driven leadership.
In a congratulatory message released on July 24, Governor Radda said Prof. Yilwatda’s emergence couldn’t have come at a better time, adding that the APC needs “renewed energy and a clear sense of direction” as it navigates the complexities of Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
“Prof. Yilwatda is a forward-thinking leader, a seasoned technocrat, and a man of both principle and people. His track record speaks volumes,” Governor Radda noted. “His elevation is not just well-deserved, it is a strategic win for the APC.”
Highlighting Yilwatda’s academic and administrative credentials—including his roles as a university lecturer, INEC commissioner, and currently, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs—Radda expressed confidence that the new chairman will strengthen internal party democracy and reconnect the APC with everyday Nigerians.
“This is a man who understands how to balance policy with people’s needs,” he said.
The Governor urged Prof. Yilwatda to continue championing inclusivity and party reforms, predicting that his tenure would bring greater unity and vision to the ruling party.
“On behalf of the government and people of Katsina State, I extend our heartfelt congratulations. May Almighty Allah guide him as he undertakes this critical national task,” Governor Radda concluded.
Prof. Yilwatda, 56, has a rich history in public service and politics, including his bid as the APC’s gubernatorial candidate in Plateau State in 2023.
