Protest: Ex-Buhari’s aide says bribery allegation against Islamic scholars irresponsible

Bashir Ahmed, the ex- assistant to former President Muhammad Buhari on new media, has said that the claim that some Islamic scholars who are publicly opposing the planned protests received N16 million naira each, is irresponsible.

Ahmed stated this on his X handle on Sunday, saying the claim is unfortunately spreading rapidly despite the lack of any concrete evidence to support it.

“Pushing such unfounded allegations is irresponsible and could pose a serious danger to those scholars and their families.

“In the name of Almighty Allah, we should avoid spreading such rumours. Don Allah mu kiyaye yada irin wannan jita-jita,” he appealed.
