Prof Kila Blasts PDP Chiefs: ‘You’re Embarrassing Yourselves, Nigeria’

Borno State Government

Renowned political economist, Prof. Anthony Kila, has issued a scathing rebuke to top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the dramatic confrontation that erupted at the party’s national headquarters yesterday.

Reacting to the chaotic scenes that played out in full public glare, Prof. Kila declared: “Shame on all PDP leaders, shame on these politicians who are embarrassing themselves, embarrassing their children, and disgracing the political structure of Nigeria with this kind of behavior.”

He noted that the disorderly conduct witnessed at the Wadata Plaza was not only a stain on the opposition party but a disturbing reflection of the broader political culture in the country. According to him, Nigerians expect responsible leadership—especially from parties seeking to lead the nation—not open displays of division and hostility.

Political observers say the incident has further deepened concerns about the PDP’s internal cohesion, coming at a time when the party is struggling to stabilize after a fresh round of suspensions, expulsions, and leadership tussles.

As the fallout continues, Prof. Kila’s comments have sparked debate among analysts and party loyalists, many of whom fear the episode may inflict lasting damage on the PDP’s already fragile public image.
