The outgoing Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi, was on Monday celebrated as a beacon of visionary and transformative leadership during an emotional send-forth ceremony held in his honour.
Delivering a keynote paper titled “Transformative Leadership”, renowned academic and mentor to Prof. Bichi, Prof. Y.Y. Deen, described the former Vice-Chancellor as “a leader who redefined the trajectory of the institution with purpose, passion, and innovation.”
Prof. Deen, a respected scholar from Federal University Dutse and visiting lecturer at FUDMA, hailed Prof. Bichi for laying a solid foundation for the university’s future. He cited Bichi’s achievements in infrastructure, ICT integration, and the creation of an enabling academic environment that now supports cutting-edge teaching and research.
“Prof. Bichi has transformed this university into an ICT-driven hub of knowledge. He has inspired excellence, motivated staff, and elevated standards across the board,” Deen noted. “His tenure embodies the very essence of transformative leadership.”
The event drew dignitaries, staff, students, and well-wishers, all paying glowing tributes to Bichi’s exceptional leadership, which many say placed FUDMA on the national and global academic map.
Prof. Deen concluded with a powerful declaration: “Prof. Bichi is not just a university leader; he is a national asset whose legacy will continue to shape academia in Nigeria and beyond.”
The ceremony closed with a resounding ovation, marking the end of a remarkable era and the beginning of a lasting legacy.
