President and Head of State, General Abdourahmane Tchiani, on Friday paid a morale-boosting visit to officers and men of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) at the headquarters of Defense Zone No. 7 in Dosso.
The visit formed part of the President’s nationwide tour to frontline formations aimed at assessing operational readiness and reaffirming government support for troops battling security threats across the country.
Addressing the assembled soldiers, General Tchiani praised their courage, discipline, and unwavering patriotism in the face of mounting challenges, describing their service as “a noble struggle in defense of the homeland.”
He lauded the FDS for their resilience in safeguarding communities and preserving the nation’s stability despite threats posed by terrorists and organized criminal networks.
“I commend you for your dedication and sacrifices,” the President said. “The nation stands proud of your courage. Our government remains fully committed to providing all the necessary logistics, welfare, and modern equipment to strengthen your operational effectiveness.”
General Tchiani also took time to engage with field commanders, receiving detailed briefings on the current security situation and progress in ongoing operations.
During the interactive session, the Head of State emphasized unity and collective responsibility, urging all Nigeriens to contribute to national peace and cohesion.
“Our fight is not for a few — it is a duty for all Nigeriens,” he declared. “Together, we will secure our land and guarantee a future of stability and dignity.”
The visit was warmly received by troops and residents of Dosso, who saw it as a powerful gesture of solidarity and reassurance from the nation’s leader amid ongoing efforts to restore lasting peace and security across Niger.
