Powering Progress: Yobe State, FG Ink Landmark Electrification MoU

In a bold step toward brighter futures, the Yobe State Government and the Federal Government today signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch long-term electrification strategies across the state.

It marks a shift toward renewable, resilient grid models to stabilize power delivery, stimulate economic activity, and provide essential public services—schools, hospitals, and markets—with reliable electricity.

Governor Buni celebrated the deal as a transformative moment: “This is more than power—it’s empowerment. Sustainable solar energy means jobs, growth, education, and better health outcomes for Yobe’s rural communities.”
