The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has flagged off its 2026 Police Week in grand style, rolling out a massive statewide sanitation drive alongside a life-saving medical outreach aimed at boosting public health and deepening community ties.
Across towns and communities, police officers turned sanitation champions, sweeping through markets, clearing roads, and restoring cleanliness to public spaces in a bold show of service beyond security duties.
The exercise underscored the Command’s resolve to foster a safer and healthier environment for residents.
In a complementary move, the Command also launched a wide-reaching medical outreach, offering free consultations, health screenings, and essential medications to hundreds of residents—bringing relief and hope to communities in need.
Leading from the front, the Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, joined officers on the field, emphasizing that the initiative reflects the true spirit of Police Week—service, partnership, and community engagement.
He urged residents to sustain the momentum by keeping their surroundings clean, stressing that safety begins with shared responsibility.
