In a sweeping operation to rid the capital of criminal elements, the FCT Police Command arrested 136 suspects during a coordinated raid on black spots and abandoned buildings across Abuja.
Intelligence sources revealed to Zagazola Makama that the sting operation was executed late Tuesday night, April 9, 2025, around 11:40 p.m. by operatives from 13 divisional police headquarters, including Kabusa, Wuse, Garki, Karu, Kubwa, Gwarinpa, and Maitama, among others.
The crackdown yielded the recovery of four cutlasses, quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, and assorted illicit drugs.
All arrested individuals are currently undergoing screening and interrogation, with the police vowing to prosecute those found culpable.
The FCT Command reaffirmed its resolve to sustain aggressive intelligence-led operations to ensure the safety and security of residents across the Federal Capital Territory.
