Police Smash Car Snatching Syndicate in Katsina

Katsina Police have arrested a suspected notorious car snatcher and recovered a black 2019 Toyota Corolla stolen from Abuja, in a major breakthrough against auto theft.

The vehicle, robbed from the home of Mr. Sunday Solomon Jiyah at Federal Housing, Lugbe, Abuja, was traced to Katsina and recovered on August 30, 2025.

Detectives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit tracked it to Kofar Kwaya, Katsina metropolis, where they arrested 28-year-old Muhammad Abdullahi of Kofar Kaura.

The suspect allegedly confessed to receiving the car from one Abdul, alias Dukiya, a notorious car snatcher from Malumfashi LGA, now on the run.

Police Commissioner CP Bello Shehu hailed the professionalism of his men, vowing to sustain the crackdown on car snatching rings while urging residents to continue supplying timely intelligence.
