The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has announced the recovery of a stolen Toyota Carina E in Ikot Ekpene, following a swift operation by its operatives.
The vehicle, a coffee-brown Toyota Carina E with registration number UYY 351 DA, was recovered on Monday, August 5, 2025, around 5:30 p.m. along Aba Road, opposite the former SUA Hotel.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, the car is suspected to be among those recently stolen from a hospital premises in Uyo. The suspect, however, abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot after spotting the police.
Efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspect. The Command also appealed to members of the public to provide useful information that could aid the investigation.
Reassuring residents, DSP John reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state, promising to keep the public updated as the case progresses.
