Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have arrested two suspected hoodlums and recovered a locally fabricated AK-47 rifle during a routine patrol in the state capital.

The arrest, which took place in the early hours of Thursday, October 2, along Idoro Road by Abolin Junction, followed the interception of two men loitering suspiciously in a dark corner.

The suspects, identified as Joshua Benjamin of Mbiaku Ikono Local Government Area and Kingsley Friday Michael of Ikot Ekop in Ibiono Ibom LGA, were apprehended around 12:30 a.m.

A swift search by the patrol team uncovered a fabricated revolving AK-47 rifle and a jack knife in their possession.
