Police Nab Two Over Trafficking of Ogun Teen to Niger, Libya

Katsina state government

The police have arrested two suspects for allegedly trafficking a 16-year-old girl, Zainab Ojelade, from Ogun State to Niger Republic, en route to Libya.

Zainab, who was declared missing after fleeing her home on September 14, was reportedly deceived by Latifat Eleyele of Ajibode, Sango-Ota. Investigations revealed that Eleyele had planned to hand her over to her husband in Libya.

Eleyele was arrested after confessing that Zainab’s boyfriend, Kehinde Amos, popularly known as Akaka, brought the teenager to her for “help” to travel abroad in search of greener pastures. Zainab was later sent to a contact in Sokoto State for onward movement across the border.
