The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary and stealing case that rocked Uyo Local Government Area earlier this month.
According to a statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Timfon John, operatives swooped in on one Udeme Effiong Asuquo, a resident of Ifa Ikot Okpon village, for allegedly breaking into his father’s home and carting away valuables.
Items reportedly stolen include a Lister generator, a Linco air conditioner, and a large Fireman Sumec generator.
Police investigations further revealed that the suspect sold the stolen goods to receivers, who fled the scene upon the arrival of operatives. The Command has assured that efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing accomplices and recover the stolen property.
The Police reiterated their commitment to bringing all culprits to justice as investigations continue.
