According to police sources who spoke to Zagazola Makama, the operation followed a report by the Divisional Police Officer of Rijau on April 12, 2025, around 9:00 a.m.

The suspects—Shehu Mohammed (35) of Tunga Magajiya, Mamman Sani of Conner Shenjiri, Daudu Mohammed (37) of Udu, and Jibrin Ahmodu of Genu—were arrested with two locally made pistols and a dane gun believed to have been used in their criminal operations.

Preliminary investigations linked the gang to the March 2025 abduction of Amina Mallam Sarkin-Noma Gatta, a resident of Agwa Gwanda village. Though a ₦3 million ransom was arranged, the victim miraculously escaped captivity and later identified one of her abductors.

All four suspects have confessed and remain in police custody as investigations continue.
