Borno State Government

A swift and daring response by operatives of the Zamfara State Police Command has led to the dramatic rescue of seven abducted victims following a late-night bandit attack in Gusau Local Government Area.

The incident, which occurred at about 10:50 p.m. on March 25, saw heavily armed bandits storm the residence of one Muhammad Lawal in Nasarawa, Damba District, abducting his wife and six children in a terrifying raid.

However, in a rapid turnaround, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) swiftly deployed a patrol team to the scene. The officers engaged the fleeing attackers in a fierce gun duel, forcing the bandits to abandon their captives and escape into the dark.

In what authorities described as a major success, all seven victims were rescued unharmed and safely reunited with their family, bringing relief to the shaken community.

Confirming the development, Police Public Relations Officer, Yazid Abubakar, said the command remains resolute in its mission to protect lives and property across the state.

The police further urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with timely intelligence, stressing that collaboration remains key in the ongoing fight against banditry in Zamfara.
