In a fierce counteroffensive that saved hundreds from abduction, gallant police officers and Nigerian Air Force operatives repelled a violent bandit attack on the villages of Kadisau, Raudama, and Sabon Layi in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to a statement by the Katsina State Police Command, the assault occurred at about 5:00 PM on July 8, 2025, when armed bandits stormed the three villages in a coordinated attempt to kidnap residents and rustle livestock.
Acting swiftly on the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) mobilized a joint force with reinforcements from nearby Dandume and the Nigerian Air Force 213 Forward Operating Base (FOB). The team confronted the heavily armed assailants in a deadly exchange of gunfire, neutralizing several of the criminals and leaving many others wounded.
Tragically, three courageous police officers and one civilian lost their lives in the line of duty during the operation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, psc, fdc, MNIM, saluted the fallen heroes for their bravery and ultimate sacrifice, offering heartfelt prayers for the repose of their souls. He reaffirmed the Command’s unrelenting commitment to combating insecurity across the state and called on residents to stay alert and cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
“The safety of our people remains our top priority,” CP Shehu stated, urging communities to report any suspicious activity without delay.
The heroic intervention in Faskari stands as a stark reminder of the sacrifices being made daily by Nigeria’s security forces in the fight against terrorism and banditry.
