The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three police inspectors for allegedly beating a 22-year-old man into a coma over an alleged affair with a senior officer’s wife.
The shocking incident occurred on Tuesday evening at the 22 PMF Barracks, Ogudu, where the suspects — Inspector John Alom of 63 PMF Ikorodu, Inspector Sunday Adoga of CTU Base 2 Ikeja, and Inspector Jehovah Usam of 22 PMF Ikeja — reportedly lured their victim, Jacob Sunday, into their room around 6:00 p.m.
According to sources who spoke to Zagazola Makama, Jacob, the son of Inspector Sunday Ochepo, was accused of having a romantic relationship with one Mrs. Sarah Richard, the wife of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Audu Richard, who also resides in the same barracks.
What began as an interrogation soon turned violent as the three officers allegedly stripped Jacob naked and subjected him to a brutal beating, leaving him unconscious.
He was later rescued by a team of detectives who rushed him to the Police College Cottage Hospital, Ikeja, where he is currently receiving emergency medical care.
Following the incident, the three officers were immediately arrested and detained at the Command Headquarters pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation.
A senior police source confirmed that disciplinary measures are being taken against the suspects, describing the assault as “a grave misconduct that tarnishes the image of the Force.”
The Lagos State Police Command, while confirming the development, assured that justice would be served, emphasizing its commitment to upholding professionalism and discipline among its personnel.
