Police Arrest Guard, Man for Alleged Sodomy, Rape in Bauchi

Police in Bauchi have arrested Bala Mato, a 48-year-old resident of Burra, Ningi local government and Kamaludeen Aliyu, a 24-year-old security guard based at Tsohon Company, a suburb of Bauchi metropolis, in connection with alleged sodomy and rape, involving a teenager and two minors respectively.

Mr Mato deceitfully lured the victim to his room where he had an unnatural sexual intercourse with him.

Another resident of Burra, Danalami Umar, 45, tipped police at Burra Divisional headquaters on 25th February about the incident, leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Confirming the incident on Sunday morning, Spokesperson of Bauchi Police Command, SP Nafi’u Habib, said the victim has been taken to Burra General Hospital for medical examination.

Also, Mr Aliyu who works with Al-Ansar Security Limited, allegedly on 23rd February lured two minors aged 4yr and 5yrs respectively into a security toom at Tsohon Company where he, at different times, had carnal knowledge of them.

Both victims and suspect were taken to the Police Clinic for medical examination.

SP Habib said the Commissioner of Police directed the DPO to transfer the case to the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Unit for thorough investigation.

CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu assures residents that the Command remains committed to protecting lives and property and ensuring that criminal elements face justice.
