In a spirited show of force against crime and social vices, the Katsina State Police Command on Thursday turned the city centre into a moving campaign ground as it staged a high-impact POCACOV (Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices) walk to rally public support for security, peace and vigilance.
Clad in uniform and resolve, officers of the Command—joined by critical stakeholders—marched through Sarki Abdulrahman Way, GRA, Katsina, with the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, psc, fdc, MNIM, personally leading the procession, sending a clear message: crime has no hiding place in Katsina State.
Speaking during the walk, CP Bello Shehu warned that cultism, criminality and other social vices pose serious threats to development and community stability. He stressed that effective policing thrives on trust and cooperation, urging residents to partner with the police by reporting suspicious activities, especially during the busy year-end and yuletide period.
“Security is a collective duty,” the Commissioner said, assuring the public of the Command’s unwavering commitment to proactive crime prevention and rapid response across the state.
The POCACOV campaign, a flagship initiative of the Nigeria Police Force, is designed to bridge the gap between the police and the people by promoting transparency, accountability and community partnership, while discouraging youth involvement in cultism and other criminal acts.
