Physical Interview for the recruitment of Primary Healthcare staff in Katsina State has commence on Wednesday the 19th of November, 2025 with Funtua Centre as the first to be covered.
The qualified candidates for interview have already sat for an Online examination organised by the Committee established for the recruitment exercise.
The category of those interviewed include Basic Midwives, Community Midwives, Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) and Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEWs).
The Interview Session conducted at the Assembly Hall of Government College Funtua was successfully monitored and supervised by the Chairman and other members of the Committee.
In an interview with Newsmen, the Chairman of the Committee Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana registered his satisfaction over the agility and enthusiasm exhibited by the Interview Panel during the session.
He explained that the recruitment exercise followed the increasing number of PHCs across the 34 LGAs and the shortfall of health personnel to manage them.
Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana who doubled as the Special Adviser LG Inspectorate reemphasised that only qualified and committed ones will be considered for the employment, stressing that Casual Staff that have been working with the health facilities for years will be given priority.
On his part, the Chairman of Funtua LGA Hon. Surajo Aliyu applauded the efforts of the State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda for the construction of more Primary Healthcare Centres, effecting rehabilitation and renovation work of some existing PHCs as well as upgrading some, across the state.
While commending the good work of the Committee mandated to handle the recruitment exercise, Hon. Surajo Aliyu pointed out that such PHCs Staff recruitment exercise has not been carried out since after Late Yar’adua administration in the state.
The State Chairman of the National Union of Health Workers Comrade Bashir Ibrahim appreciated the initiative of Radda state government administration for the transformation of healthcare services in the state.
Other members of the Committee present during the interview session imclude the Permanent Secretary MLGCA Alhaji Mas’udu Banye, Executive Secretary State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Local Government Auditor General, Chairman Danmusa LGA Hon. Ibrahim Garba Maidabino representing ALGON, Permanent Secretary Local Government Service Commission, and the Director Administration and Supply of the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency.
