The Katsina State Department of Local Government Inspectorate under the Ministry for Local Government and Emirate Affairs has directed Safana Local Council to complete the construction of Staff Quarters for PHC Zakka and PHC Babban Duhu.
Special Adviser Local Government Inspectorate Hon Lawal Rufa’i Safana gave the directive when he visited the PHC to ascertain the level of the ongoing work being carried out by the Local Council.
The construction work of the Staff Quarters for the two respective PHCs were among the first three sets of PHCs selected for rehabilitation under the first phase rehabilitation projects of three PHCs in each of the 34 LGAs by Dikko administration, but the Contractor abandoned the project.
The S A alongside Director of Works Engineer Umar Faroukh Abdullahi and his counterpart of Inspection Alhaji Ibrahim Wali Umar were visibly conducted round the project by the Council Leader and the Director Works of the Local Council.
Considering the importance of the project, the Special Adviser earlier discussed the issue with the Local Council and thereby directed the Council to ensure completion the projects on direct labour process.
The Special Adviser therefore visited the PHC to ascertain the level of the ongoing work where he met men at work doing their possible efforts towards completing the work.
Hon. Lawal Safana also branched at PHC and a Primary School Dabaibayawa in Batagarawa LGA to clarify where the Staff Quarters for the PHC should be sited and the ongoing work of the Primary School selected under the rehabilitation project of the most dilapidated schools across the 34 LGAs.
He therefore expressed appreciation over the level of the work and charged Contractors handling such project to speed up the work and ensure they comply with the specifications provided.
