Former presidential candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi, has taken a swipe at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, warning that Nigeria cannot achieve sustainable growth and development under what he described as “ineffective leadership and a weak government.”
Obi’s criticism comes amid reports of dwindling Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), which he says reflects a loss of investor confidence in the administration. He urged the government to adopt transparent policies, strengthen institutions, and create a business-friendly environment to reverse the economic downturn.
“Nigeria’s economy will continue to struggle if leadership fails to inspire trust, ensure policy consistency, and tackle insecurity decisively,” Obi cautioned.
The remarks have further fueled political tensions, with analysts noting that FDI has been on a downward spiral, raising concerns over the country’s economic prospects under the current administration.
