The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday marked a major organisational milestone with the commissioning of its new Oyo State Secretariat in Ibadan, amid glowing commendation for Governor Seyi Makinde, who built and donated the facility to the party.

The ultra-modern secretariat was commissioned by the PDP National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, at a well-attended ceremony in Ibadan. The facility boasts fully furnished offices and meeting rooms designed to enhance coordination and party administration.

Speaking at the event, Turaki described the secretariat as a symbol of commitment and loyalty to the party, praising Governor Makinde for what he termed a “qualitative, well-finished and adequately furnished” project.

He urged other PDP governors across the country to emulate Makinde’s example by investing in party infrastructure, noting that strong institutions remain the backbone of a resilient political organisation.

The PDP chairman also applauded party members nationwide for their steadfastness despite what he described as “unnecessary distractions” arising from recent court judgments, assuring supporters that the PDP would emerge stronger and more united from its internal challenges.

In his remarks, Governor Makinde reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the PDP, pledging continued support for the party at all levels. He expressed confidence in the current national leadership under Turaki, stressing that unity and discipline would remain key to the party’s resurgence.

The commissioning ceremony was witnessed by top party leaders, including former Kano State Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, alongside members of the PDP National Working Committee.

The event underscored renewed optimism within the PDP, as leaders and members alike rallied around symbols of unity, stability, and institutional strength ahead of future political engagements.
