The Nigerian police community is reeling after the shocking and unprovoked killing of Superintendent of Police Halliru Liman, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Wusagu Division in Kebbi State.
SP Liman was fatally shot by military personnel attached to OPHD Sector 6 in the Dan Marke area of Bukkuyum, Zamfara State, on August 28, 2024.
The tragic incident occurred as SP Liman was en route to a monthly conference in Birnin Kebbi when he was stopped by the soldiers despite identifying himself as a police officer.
In a horrifying turn of events, the officer in charge, identified as Hassan, brazenly shot SP Liman in the head, killing him instantly.
The Zamfara State Police Command, through its spokesperson ASP Yazid Abubakar, has condemned the brutal attack, calling it a grave violation of inter-agency cooperation and demanding swift justice for the fallen officer.
