Outrage as Funtua’s Northern Dairy Fan Milk Dismantled, Youths Fear Job Losses

Katsina state government

The recent dismantling of the Northern Dairy Fan Milk facility in Funtua has raised widespread concern among residents and economic observers, who view the move as a major setback to youth entrepreneurship and local economic growth.

Many community members described the development as disheartening, particularly at a time when calls for youth empowerment, industrial revival, and job creation are louder than ever.

Observers argued that rather than removing such valuable establishments, efforts should have been made to revive, modernize, and transform the facility into a hub for skills development, innovation, and sustainable employment.

“Our youths need industries to learn trades, earn income, and grow their businesses. Dismantling such structures without providing alternatives only weakens the economy and discourages innovation,” a concerned resident lamented.

Analysts further emphasized that preserving and improving existing industries remains key to building a stronger economic future. They urged the government and stakeholders to act swiftly to protect local industries and safeguard the region’s economic heritage.

“The path to progress lies in restoration, not eradication — for the sake of our youths and the future of our communities,” they stressed.
