The Osun State Police Command has opened an inquiry into reports that operatives of the Amotekun Corps were involved in the killing of three residents of Akinlalu community in Ife North Local Government Area.
The incident, which reportedly occurred on Tuesday, triggered tension in the area, with locals accusing the regional security outfit of applying excessive force during its operation. The exact circumstances leading to the deaths are still unclear.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state assured that the command has commenced investigations to establish the facts and ensure that justice is done.
