Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have dealt a major blow to JAS/ISWAP terrorists, neutralizing more than 19 fighters, foiling an infiltration attempt on Rann, and recovering a cache of weapons in a string of operations across the North East between July 29 and August 8, 2025.

Backed by the Air Component, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Command, and Civilian Joint Task Force, the troops stormed insurgent hideouts from Pulka to Bulabulin forest, detonating 12 IEDs, seizing AK-47 rifles, ammunition, motorcycles, and arresting suspected logistics suppliers.

In a major humanitarian stride, the military also secured the safe return of 987 Internally Displaced Persons to Mandaragrau in Biu LGA under the Borno State Government’s resettlement plan.

The most recent clash came in the early hours of August 8, when insurgents sneaking in from Cameroon targeted Rann. OPHK forces responded with superior firepower, killing several terrorists and recovering rifles, RPG bombs, and explosives. Seven bodies were found, with blood trails suggesting more enemy casualties.

Two soldiers, however, paid the supreme price when a terrorist RPG struck their vehicle.

Military High Command praised the troops’ resilience, urging them to sustain the offensive to deny terrorists freedom of action and restore stability to the region.
