In a decisive response to a distress call, Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) troops successfully foiled a large-scale abduction attempt by bandits in the Tsohuwar Tasha area of Kaura Namoda Local Government, Zamfara State.
On March 5, 2024, OPHD forces engaged the bandits in a fierce gunfight, compelling them to retreat in disarray along a riverline.
In a pursuit, our courageous troops neutralized one assailant during their withdrawal, while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
Amidst the tactical rescue operation, 8 females and 7 males managed to escape the clutches of the bandits unharmed.
The restoration of peace in the area is now assured, reinforced by confidence-building patrols.
The troops maintain a vigilant stance, with their morale standing high. Major General GM Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division Sokoto, commended the troops for their unwavering professionalism and resilience.
He urged them to persist in their efforts until full peace is restored in the Northwest and across Nigeria.
