Operation Haskanite Triumph: Chad’s Forces Crush Boko Haram, 96 Terrorists Eliminated

In a fierce battle against Boko Haram in the Lake Chad region, Chadian Defense and Security Forces struck a powerful blow against the insurgents, killing 96 fighters and injuring 11 more, while tragically losing 15 of their own.

Operation Haskanite, carried out by Chad’s ground, air, and naval forces, has disrupted the terror group’s movements, dismantling six of their canoes and seizing a cache of 107 individual and three collective weapons.

General Issakha Acheikh, spokesperson for the Chadian Army, confirmed the losses, revealing that 32 soldiers also sustained injuries and were evacuated to Ndjamena for urgent treatment.

Among the fallen was General Youssouf Abdoulaye Kari, a revered military veteran and former participant in Chad’s mission in Mali.

President Mahamat Idriss Déby praised the valor of his troops, calling them heroes who defended Chad’s sovereignty and promised relentless pursuit of the insurgents still at large.

Despite the intense clash, President Déby departed for Saudi Arabia on an official visit, underscoring his commitment to both Chad’s defense and its international engagements.
