A resident of the area Basiru Adamu told ABC News that one of those abducted was his junior brother.
“It was around 9pm while I was on my way going home that I began to hear sporadic sound of gunshots from a distance. It was terrible for me because I’m not use to such sounds.
I began contacting some of my friends in the other area and they told me that it was a group of bandits that had struck and were dispossessing residents of their valuables especially money and food stuff.
“They then started to shoot after which the soldiers stationed on the road towards Katsina decided to confront them. Some policemen stationed in the town also tried their best. The policemen came with an APC vehicle,” he added.
He noted that the deceased who was from the Jibia town has been buried Friday morning.
He however added that their junior brother has escaped from the bandits while they were being taken into the bush.
