….Curfew to be relaxed briefly on Friday to allow Muslim faithfuls to participate in the Jumaat Congregation Prayers
In the light of the ongoing security challenges, the Borno State Security Council has imposed an indefinite curfew within Maiduguri Metropolis and Jere Local Government Area of Borno State. The Curfew is indefinite and people are enjoined to remain within their localities.
However, on Friday, citizens are allowed to observe the Jummua Prayers in Mosques nearest to their communities within the hours of 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm. Add
Citizens are enjoined to join the Jumaat congregations at Mosques nearest to their places of resident.
For the avoidance of doubt, the curfew shall be reactivated at 3.00 pm on Friday 2 August 2024 and remain so until further notice.
Citizens are advised to obey this Curfew strictly as Security Operatives have been deployed to critical locations. Any one who violates this Curfew will face the full wrath of the Law.
The Curfew shall be reviewed as the security situation improves.
