Okpebholo To Collaborate With FG Over Benin – Auchi Highway

Worried by the impact of deplorable road infrastructure on socio – economic development of Edo State, Governor Monday Okpebholo, has expressed readiness to support the Federal Government in curbing the nightmare posed by the Benin – Auchi Road.

Similarly, the governor has embarked on massive road infrastructure upgrade to find lasting solution to the road problems bedeviling motorists and others plying the dilapidated roads in Benin, the state capital, and other parts of Edo.

These are parts of the unwavering spirit, resilience and determination shown by the governor to ensure progress and transformation o the state, Gov Okpebholo has disclosed.

Speaking in a New Year broadcast to the people of Edo, Okpebholo expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, saying: “Mr. President means we’ll for our dear country and I am optimistic that his bold policies will yield positive results in 2025.”

He emphasized: “We are also collaborating with the Federal Government to ensure the Benin – Auchi Expressway becomes motorable as soon as possible.”

The governor said the policy thrust of his less than two month old administration is rehabilitation of several roads as a response to the appalling situation of the roads.

His words: “We have started massive construction of roads. The road construction Projects include Ramat Park Flyover, Upper Mission Road Extension, Ekiuwa Market Road, Palace Road, Catholic Charismatic Renewal Road and Upper Ekhiouwan Road just to mention a few that are ongoing.”

The governor also said because of the premium his administration placed on the welfare of it’s people, the state had been made safe again through continuous securing it from crime and criminality.

On education sector, he revealed that renovation of schools had kicked off while his administration had resolved to lay a legacy of transformation by
injecting N500m monthly subvention into the state-owned Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, as a way to revive the institution.

“With your support, a new Edo is rising. I will urge you to continue to support my administration and the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu,” he pleaded.

The governor noted that the tremendous progress recorded by the nascent administration would not have been possible without the support of the citizens, his deputy, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, and the workforce.
