In a major step towards revolutionizing agriculture in Katsina State, Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, welcomed a high-level delegation from OCP Africa, led by Mr. Akintunde Akinwande, Head of Digital, Africa.
The meeting, held at the Government House Katsina,explored strategic collaborations aimed at transforming the agricultural landscape of the state.
OCP Africa, a subsidiary of the renowned Moroccan OCP Group, is globally recognized for its expertise in phosphate and derivative products, with nearly a century of experience.
Since its establishment in 2016, the subsidiary has been dedicated to the sustainable development of African agriculture.
Discussions focused on key initiatives such as the Agribooster scheme, OCP Farm and Fortune Hubs, the OCP School Lab project, and the More Food Initiative.
The delegation also explored the revival of state-owned fertilizer blending plants, the creation of a soil nutrient map for Katsina, and the implementation of the Udongo digital solution to enhance agricultural growth.
Both parties agreed on a follow-up MoU signing to formalize the partnership and kickstart these transformative projects.
Governor Radda has tasked the Hon. Commissioner of Agriculture and Livestock Development and the Chief Economic Adviser with ensuring immediate project implementation.
