FESTUS AREGBESOLA – SOKOTO
Former president of Nigeria chief Olusegun Obasanjo was in Sokoto to commission project on 5th June 2024.
The chief and “Jikan” Sokoto come into Sokoto on the special invitation of governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto to commission the low cost housing 136 units procured by the present administration.
Speaking at the occasion before the commissioning of the housing units, OBJ thanked and commended Senator Aliyu Wamakko for making good choice of governor in person of Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto for the good in Sokoto State.
He therefore called on Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto to continue with the Good works he has started. Adding that, “when I watch the various projects already commissioned and the on going ones with lots of flagged off for the second stancer of Governorship, I was convinced that he, Ahmed was a good choice” the former president posited.
The former president went down memory lane remarked on how the made it possible for woman to vote in the north for the first time in 1979 when he was Head of state without any molestations people called me names, but today we can all see the gains and beauty it has added to Nigeria politics.
He state that after good house to leave in, food, health and education are the most important to human life, “you have got it right, I encouraged you to continuo to work the way you are working now. To achieve more successes in life.
He commissioned the housing Estate, saying, I commission today this houses at kwanwa area of Sokoto metropoly to the glory of God, good social, welfare and economic wellbeing of the people that will leave therein. Amen.
