The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has dismissed viral social media claims that Corps Member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, State Code LA/24B/8325, was denied her Certificate of National Service (CNS) for criticising the government.
In a statement on Sunday, NYSC clarified that Rita is one of 131 corps members whose certificates were withheld for valid disciplinary reasons, specifically failing to attend the April 2025 biometrics clearance. Her service year has been extended by two months in line with NYSC Bye-Laws — a standard sanction, not a targeted punishment.
The management stressed that the decision was purely procedural and not politically motivated, urging the public to avoid politicising routine disciplinary actions.
